Shanxi Synthetic Rubber Group Co Ltd
Shanxi Synthetic Rubber Group Co Ltd is a subsidiary of China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd and a tier-3 company of Chem China. The company is located in Datong, Shanxi. It covers 1.1 square kilometers with more than 2,000 employees. Its main products are chloroprene rubber products (CR). It holds the largest CR production base in the nation.
In 1976, it was handed over to the Shanxi Provincial Department of Chemical Industry and renamed, Shanxi Chemical Plant. It was restructured into Shanxi Synthetic Rubber Group Co Ltd in 1997. It went under the jurisdiction of Datong, Shanxi in 2002.
It joined China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd in January 2003 through an assets restructuring.
Relying on the mineral resources of Datong as well as convenient transportation conditions, the company has adopted a carbide acetylene method to produce CR and keeps its business at low costs.
When the company went into operations in 1865, its design capacity was at 2,500 tons. The output exceeded 10,000 tons in 1995 and reached 15,000 tons in 1996. The production capacity had risen to 25,000 tons in 2001.
The company runs five CR post-treatment production lines. Its CR’s market share in the domestic market exceeds 39 percent. The products have been exported to 38 countries and regions.
The company passed certification of "quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety" three standards system in 2005. It was recognized as the first "high-tech enterprise" in Shanxi in 2007.
In 2008, "Wohu Brand" CR won top brand product in Shanxi and a "Symbolic Top Brand Product in Shanxi". The company won the Class-AAA quality credit in the province in 2009.
It earned recognition as famous-brand products from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, as well as a high-tech enterprise granted by Shanxi and recorded in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance and State Administration of Taxation in November 2011.
Shanna Synthetic Rubber Group Co Ltd
Shanna Synthetic Rubber Group Co Ltd is a joint venture of Shanxi Synthetic Rubber Group Co Ltd and the Armenian Nairit Company. It is located in Longquan Industrial Park of Yanggao County in Datong, Shanxi.
It covers 86.7 hectares. It launched productions in 2010 with more than 800 employees. The first phase project of the company has annually produced 30,000 tons of CR, 25,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda (converted to 100% NaOH), 65,500 tons of liquid chlorine and 3,535 tons of DVA varnish.
Shanna introduced the technology from the Armenian Nairit Company to produce CR. It runs three CR post-treatment production lines and produces 25 varieties of CR products in the SN series.
BlueStar Chemical Co Ltd
BlueStar Chemical Co Ltd is located in the Jinyuan district, Taiyuan, Shanxi. The company covers an area of 200,000sq m with more than 600 employees. It is one of the largest taxpayers for the district.
China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd and Taiyuan Chemical Group established BlueStar Chemical Co Ltd and restructured the TDI plant of Taiyuan Chemical Group in 2002.
BlueStar Chemical Co Ltd was established on May 22, 2002 with a registered capital of 102.20 million yuan ($16.18million).
The ratios of capital contributions of China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd, Taiyuan Chemical Industry Group Co Ltd, Shanxi Economic Construction & Investment Company, Shanxi Economic Trade & Assets Management Co Ltd and Shanxi Jintong Investment Management Co Ltd account for 90.47 percent, 1.31 percent, 6.31 percent, 0.97 percent and 0.94 percent respectively.
BlueStar Chemical Co Ltd is one of the five largest TDI producers in the nation. Its main product is toluene diisocynate (TDI). TDI is the basic material of the polyurethane (PU) industry and used to produce soft foam, elastomers, building materials, coatings and cohesive.
It manufactures automotive seat cushions, driving belts, sealants, building waterproof materials and composite packing bags.
The TDI production unit holds annual capacity of 30,000 tons of TDI and 90,000 tons of byproduct hydrochloric acid. The unit adopts the DCS. Its production process and quality have reached international advanced levels.
According to the requirements of the Taiyuan Xishan improvement plan, BlueStar Chemical Co Ltd was shut down and relocated in 2011. Below is the relocation and development plan:
1. Plans are underway to build a TDI combination materials plant, ADI additive products and pure MDI. A US company had been handling negotiations of the production scale, investments, markets and the site.
2. The following projects would get constructed in Longquan Industrial Park, Yanggao, Datong:
Phase 1: 50KTA TDI (40KTA before relocation), 1.5TA ADI and 500KTA calcium carbide with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan.
Phase 2: 130KTA TDI, 100KTA PC and 300KTA porous ammonium nitrate with a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan.
